Very rarely do I splurge for a pedicure. But, for myself, I keep polish on my toes year round. The bright color makes me happy. Depending on my mood or the season or the new shade I got from WalMart, I change the color.
About 10 years ago, I stripped the polish off my nails. I didn't repaint them immediately. I walked into the kitchen to get a glass of water and encountered Will along the way. He pointed at my feet, screamed "EEEEWWWWWW!" and started doing his wigged-out dance. He wanted to know what had happened.

Since he had always seen my toe nails polished, he must have assumed they were permanently painted. Even though he'll be 16 soon, I keep my nails polished so he won't be grossed out by my naked nail beds.

Wonder what kind of conditioning I'm creating for future daughters-in-law?

Did he think you were born with polish on your toes?

LOL you funny girl!!
I go to the beauty school and get pedis for $12 a time. I only do it when the weather is warm enough to let my toes show - - - and then I let my toe nails "air" in the winter. Well, "air" as much as they can buried inside socks and shoes!!!
Hehehehehehe
Oh my you do a good job of painting your own nails. I need a good pedicure(professional strength at this time)and then maybe I can keep them polished for spring/summer. Kids(even older one's) say the darnedest things.
ha i love the last few lines of this story. you do get right to the point in stories!!
Cute story! There is nothing better than a pedi, IMO!
poor traumatised boy !
I must admit, when the polish comes off, toe nails do look very very pale.
I had a pedicure & wore fab peep toe orange satin shoes to a friend's wedding last sumer. I felt fab !
You have nice feet !
That's so funny, lol!
I love the color- Really fun...
I haven't had a pedicure in over a year! Maybe I will get one next payday... I am glad you liked the package and yes I did make the necklace and I am so happy you liked it!
Tee hee hee... Toe nails do look a lil nekkid when unadorned. =)
Love the color you use in the photo. My favorite color of red!
LOL, Anna! I stopped painting my nails when I became very pregnant with my son. Between the bare nails and the gargantuan swelling, I really and truly did not recognize my own feet. That wigged ME out, and they were my own feet!
Love your nails. You have such young, kid feet. ;)
This is so funny!! He could be in for a lot more surpsrises like this as he gets older.

YIKES, Anna, feed my "girls" to your CHICKENS????? I am posting a sign on my worm bin, "Love your worms, don't use them for fishing or feed them to chickens!"
I am fiercely protective of them, honestly. I don't have much in past blogs about them, but I've written about them in 3 or 4 of my books. Next month I am doing a post about my new worm bin and how it works.

Oh my! I have only had a pedicure once in my life and it was such a splurge! My boyfriend and I did it together. Needless to say I was the only one with painted nails after we were done. He was surprised how awesome it was, so was I!
OMG, "Funny Story" made me think of something other than painted toenails!
