Chickens in the Basement

I love to write and I love to laugh. When I write, I get to the point quick. My stories would fit on the back of a postcard. They usually make me chuckle. And you know what they say, "It's all about me!"

Reindeer Summer Camp

Yesterday afternoon, I looked out my bedroom window and discovered several of Santa's flight crew were grazing in the back yard.
Initially, I thought there were two. Vixen hovered near the woods while the brazen Blitzen was near the house and chowing on my weedy lawn!
We opened the back door quietly and went onto the deck.

He heard us, but wasn't bothered by our presence!

Then, out of my flower bed came this big guy!

Dasher had eaten all of the hydrangeas he could reach and was on to the weeds!

If only the stupid pole to the birdhouse wasn't there, this would have been a fabulous shot!

I know a few hunters who would have loved to see these guys!

When Santa whistled for the crew to return to the sleigh, Vixen beat the boys into the woods.

With a challenge issued by Vixen, Dasher was off!

Blitzen brought up the rear! I'm sure Vixen won this particular reindeer game!
Santa, you owe me a couple of hydrangea bushes!
NOTE: Riley Dog slept peacefully on the porch in the garage while Reindeer Summer Camp was going on in the back yard!

How precious to have those lovely deer in your garden. The nearest place I can go to see any is 4 miles away - and I thought I was lucky! And yes, I agree with Barbara - glad to see your post :o)

Sorry that your hydrangeas had to be sacrificed though.

OMG! She lives!!!!! When are you going to quit that damn job and come back to us Miz Chickie??? While driving to Birmingham yesterday what to my wondering eyes should appear but ANOTHER reindeer! Cupid mustve gotten really lost cuz he was right there next to I-65 thinking "Damn I thought we were supposed to go SOUTH at Wilmington!" but how really neat to see them in your backyard and so many, too. We've missed you sooooooo much too my dear friend and hope you and the family have been well. I'm still hopeful we'll be doing a meetup one day soon either up there at North Pole South or at La Condo. So glad you surfaced!!!!

What great shots! I think the deer are going to be in abundance this year. I spotted one across the street where we live one day when sitting out on my front porch. Good to see you back! Work has a way of taking over, doesn't it?

Barbara asked you a question! It's been a month! If I were gone a month I'd come back and find no followers! But that's my luck, really. I'm guessing by this interesting post all is well. Hope the boys had a good first day back at school today!

I saw plenty of these guys in Lassen Volcanic Natl. Park and in Paula's driveway too! California has their share I guess. We even flew over the volcano - it was awesome, however Jasmin got a bit queasy from motion sickness!

Hope all is well dear - have missed you. Are you still at RDU? Hope you stop by my blog to see my pics from Lake Almanor. I became quite proficient in kayaking and wave running........sounds like I was at Summer camp!!!!
