Chickens in the Basement

I love to write and I love to laugh. When I write, I get to the point quick. My stories would fit on the back of a postcard. They usually make me chuckle. And you know what they say, "It's all about me!"

Sex Therapy!

That title got your attention, didn't it!

Let me introduce you to my friend, Laurie Watson. She is a sex therapist. I love introducing her to folks and telling them what she does. It either inspires curiosity or discomfort. Her sense of humor, understanding of her subject matter and her girl-next-door personality make her so easy to talk to and trust. Plus, she throws out words like penis, vagina, orgasmic (and many more I can't print here) without flinching, blushing or whispering!

Laurie Watson, LMFT, LPC

This coming weekend, she is hosting a couples clinic called Love Shack in Blowing Rock, NC. I figure this is like sex camp! I bet it's sold out!

She has written a book that I can't wait to read. It's called I Never Want to have Sex Again. She has two blogs. The first is for her clinic, Awakenings. I rummaged through the sight last night and read a fascinating article on pornography and how it affects relationships. I wish I had this article last year when another friend was struggling with the issues discussed in this article! She also writes for Psychology Today's website (the name of her blog here is Married and Still Doing It!) Her latest article is He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not. This one came out just in time for Valentine's Day!

A publisher is interested in her book, but wants her to have a larger national presence. I can't think of a better way to get NATIONAL attention than sharing her with my blog buddies across the country and internationally! (Come on UK girls, start a movement to bring Laurie over for a Love Shack weekend! I'll be her luggage handler!) Let's get Laurie's information out there and help her get her book published! Who knows...maybe she'll be on Oprah before she goes off the air!

Please, check out her blogs. Know folks having marriage troubles? Send them the links. Or, just share the links with everybody you know. Or, if your like me, curiosity will make you click on those links above! I would bet we all know somebody who could benefit from this information, but you don't normally discuss your lack of orgasms over coffee at Starbucks!

I love to surround myself with interesting, smart, funny women. Laurie fits the bill!
