Chickens in the Basement

I love to write and I love to laugh. When I write, I get to the point quick. My stories would fit on the back of a postcard. They usually make me chuckle. And you know what they say, "It's all about me!"

Bloggers are Generous People!

I have met some of the nicest people since I started writing my blog. We have lots in common, too...gardening, junking, crafting, thrifting, and of course, writing! As I have read blogs, I've discovered that Abby in England is collecting salvages from fabric to make VERY CUTE TEDDY BEARS. I had some of those. Missy in Utah is making a bug jar quilt and I have lots of bug fabric. Mick in Texas likes my vintage paper plates. I have no plans for these things, so in the mail they go! (Mick wrote the nicest thank you note, I had to e-mail him and have him tell his mom what a good job she did raising such a nice kid!)Valerie is hosting the best year round ornament swap ever and I get to play along!

My point in telling you this? I don't dread going to the mailbox anymore. About every other week, I get a package or a note in the mail. Chris is the best at sending cards. She makes some and she buys some. Even though we've never met, she knows me better than some of my friends I see every week.

Don't you love the PEEP SHOW card Chris sent. Hazel is the rooster doing the peeping! Missy sent the hen note card.

Look what Messy Missy sent me this week...

This fun rooster is headed to the laundry room to hang out with the other chickens!

Missy made this beautiful necklace for me. It is so pretty! And it was in this cute little bag!

These cute primitive patches are destined for a quilt or a pillow. I'll have to let you know.

My blogging buddies are truly the neatest, most generous, creative, supportive and fun people I've never met!

ADENDUM!

After I posted this blog, I skipped to the mailbox, only to find these treasures inside!

Liz, from Ninny's Notes, sent these cute little chicks my way.

Thanks a bunch Liz! I love them!

Great stuff you have there! What can I say... you are just soo likeable! Anyone who can show their tootsies on their blog are ok by me! (Yours are cute polished, mine on the other hand are way too ugly)

Just wanted to say Happy Easter and thanks for the good idea on my post to keep up the Easter Chic Tussie long after Easter. I just may do that.

God Bless,

I'm sorry to say that I'm lousy at remembering birthdays, sending cards at holidays, etc., but I so appreciate people that DO remember and do that.

And yes, I have found that not only are fellow bloggers great people, but most of them "get me" and make me feel less alone.

Thanks for being one of those people!

I agree with you about bloggers. I have an at home job and am mostly alone (unless I'm on the road) and so my new friends mean so much to me.

And you, well, your big smile made me smile. Keep on smiling!

Yes, trips to the mailbox don't need to result in bills, pretties from blog friends are so much nicer!!

Yes, Jenny told me about the river house and I knew those were your cute cricket boxes!

I met Kathy Mitchell (Raleigh Auction/Hunt & Gather) at the nail salon Thurs., we chatted and mentioned you while drying our tootsies! If you go to the auction some Mon. night let me know - I need a teacher!!

I managed to get Bob to drive me to Concord yesterday, AND we took Vanessa along! The Gibson Mill Depot is so huge - tons of stuff and even though we tramped through for a couple of hours we still didn't really have time to see everything. Janna of Artsy Fartsy was working - she's really sweet and had great junky things in her own two booths. Hopefull we can do a group tour there later.

Great news about Susie!

Easter blessings to you all.
