Chickens in the Basement

I love to write and I love to laugh. When I write, I get to the point quick. My stories would fit on the back of a postcard. They usually make me chuckle. And you know what they say, "It's all about me!"

Smoke Signals

The weather finally broke today. For Valentine's Day, we spent a good chunk of it working in the yard together. That big old pine tree that fell earlier in the week was piled in the fire pit and set on fire. Throughout the day, we added bits and pieces from around the yard.

Since we've had so much snow and rain and the tree was fresh, it took a while to get it going, not to mention a pile of Fire Starters. But once it did, it burned fast. The larger logs are still in the fire pit and will probably burn all night. I smell like smoke!

Riley Dog found a couple of toys he buried in the fall. He spent the day chasing balls, a really yucky looking squeaky hot dog, and once, a chicken! Good thing she's quick!

This is my favorite photo of the day. The smoke was wafting up the hill. Will is walking up in the center. Tony and Riley Dog are to the right. All of the snow hasn't melted yet but I tried to stomp every pile I came across to help speed it along!

A couple of friends said to check you out - so here I am. I'm like Linda - love the fire - hate the smoke.

Go away snow! Can we at least get daylight savings time? I'm buying a winter home in Aruba.

I'd get arrested for burning brush in my backyard! How funny the rules are different from region to region.

Looks like fun. Whip out the marshmallows!

Liar. I think you set your kitchen on fire AGAIN and you're trying to squirm out of explaining how it happened AGAIN.

Sounds like you've been busy! And speaking of snow, we saw more flakes today. Thankfully no accumulation but definitely flurries.
A fire sounds nice and cozy- And a great way to get rid of unwanted debris. Have fun cleaning up! And Happy Late Valentine's Day...

That is a really cool photo!
How are the chickens bearing up? They're pretty tough little critters, right?

I was up early (don't even ask!) with my puppy, so went blog-hopping while having that first cup of joe. Found your blog and love it! Count me as a follower...
