Chickens in the Basement

I love to write and I love to laugh. When I write, I get to the point quick. My stories would fit on the back of a postcard. They usually make me chuckle. And you know what they say, "It's all about me!"

Bits and Pieces from the Week

Today when I was leaving a comment on Pixie's blog, the verification word that came after I pressed send was this...

Now, I know what I want to be when I grow up! I want to create word verifications!

Neighbor Mary called last week to tell me her family had a new edition. After wrestling babies from mama goats a few years ago, we were glad to know that the mama's could deliver all by themselves!

Did you see my Etsy sidebar on the right? While I was getting things organized to list on Etsy, I came across this vintage goody just in time for Mother's Day. Mother Mottos are so pretty! I'm not sure I would give this to my mother with that photograph in it, but I would have to leave it behind a picture of me and my mom! You can tell a boy picked this photo...For future references guys, choose a FLATTERING photo of your mom. Not one that shows off her fat rolls and wrinkled skirt (or are they skorts?)!

This morning, the sun hadn't risen yet. I could see the silhouettes of my leafless trees. By the time I grabbed my camera, the sun had come up more and the contrast wasn't as stark, but it was still pretty. The blob in the center of the photo is a squirrel nest. I can see it from my living room window but haven't caught a squirrel coming or going yet. Spring is coming, so babies will be coming, too.

What a great way to end a week! I have been submitting suggestions to Rachel's weekly contest to win a necklace pendant made by her. She gives you a picture that will be on one side and you provide the quote that will go on the other side. No surprise mine are usually smart-ass! I won! I won! I think I'll just sit by my mailbox and wait for it to arrive! I'm so lucky! Visit Rachel at Two Dog Pond to order your own!

Ah ha--I knew that a pimp's group of girls was called a stable but never knew they were actually referred to as "whorses"! You learn something new every day. (You know, I'm TRYING to stop blogging about stuff like that but then I see this word and it just HAD to be commented on). That woman in the picture is going to be me pretty soon, I'm afraid. The girls are drooping pretty bad these days . . . And my verification word is "flumersh", FYI. Is that like the red marks you get after you ride one of those waterpark rides?

I think the word verifications are hilarious sometimes and I have started to write the funniest down. I thought I could do a imerick or something !

I'm with you on these verification words...One blogger was making up definitions...how fun! My take on this one: If a train is coming towards me "idart" out of the way!

You are not going to believe me, but I dreamed about those paper plates last night!

Fun post! I'll have to try that pendant contest. I love those . . . speaking of which, has anyone seen my Christmas one? Me neither. Congratulations on yours -- I would buy that.

OMG, a baby goat. I love baby goats!

Whorses...is that a horse that's a prostitute, or prostitute that specializes in horses? I'm confused...

Congrats on your win...I have to post my big win from another blog, it's so cool...maybe tomorrow!

Hi You,

Congratulations on the win. Sounds like that was soo fun.

Love your wit! Also I agree on the menfolk, they really don't get it about us females and the weight thing, especially with pictures.

Hope your weekend has been nice. I am trying to get over a dumb headcold that is hanging on forever.

God Bless,
Julie

My husband asked me what I was laughing about from the other room! Those word verifications are unintentionally hilarious sometimes.

LOVE what you're doing in your Etsy!
